Great shoe but sizing way off

The good part - with the right size these shoes are great. They leave lots of room for my toes but still hug the rest of my foot snugly. The upper materials are well made and durable and the grip is fantastic on my flat pedals. I've struck my feet on some rocks wearing these and I felt protected. Unquestionably the best fitting and most comfortable bike shoes I've ever owned.

Four drawbacks: 1) there is no elastic strap to hold your laces down like all other RC shoes. 2) the sole is quite flexible so for longer rides these tend to make my feet a bit sore. 3) the toebox doesn't have a rubber rand on it so it is more susceptible to scuffing. 4) I had to go up a full size to get these to fit (normally 11/45, wearing 12/46).

I'd like to see a version of this shoe that addresses the drawbacks above but keeps the geometry of the shoe (i.e. wider toe narrower heel/midfoot).

Sizing Rant

I don't understand why all bike shoes seem built to fit so much tighter - it's not just RC. A snugger "performance" fit is one thing, but I need to go up a full size (from 11 to 12 US) to fit these. They're then too long. I have narrow to medium feet with more squared toes and most bike shoes crush my toes. Running shoe companies like Topo and Altra have heard consumers and responded by making wider toeboxes. RC you've got a diamond in the rough with the Vice model, make a more substantial version.

Shoe needs some work.. painful tight fit (too narrow) and no functional D30

First of all, you guys are on the right track with this shoe. Few comments -- 1 the shoe is too narrow at the MTP joints. I have regular width feet and it was too tight. I did get them to stretch a bit by wearing them around the house for days with extra thick merino wool socks, but it is still tight and painful when i switch back to regular thin socks. 2nd comment, why advertise D30 zones in the insoles? The amount that is used or the way the material is made for this insole.. is no better than any cheap 1.5mm of foam. I have D30 body armor (knee pads) and the amount of/implementation of the D30 in this insole.. it is false advertising to even mention it. Completely nonfunctional. I can't believe D30 have their name on this. I stand by this comment and would appreciate a response from Ride Concepts. Either way the main issue is with the too-narrow fitment at the MTP joints.

bit good

Cool and comfy shoe

Very awesome shoe. The sizing on these is a little strange. I wear a 10.5 but have to do 11.5 with this brand. I have a narrow pretty standard foot and This was the only one out of many ride concepts that fit me. It tried some of the other shoes and the toe box is so tight. I am not sure I will use these for riding but they looked cool so I got them anyway. They feel like slippers and a really comfy and cozy. Great for standing at working and walking. I like these.

Great shoe

Everything is perfect on them. And only reason I took off one star is because I have to break them in. Right now they are hurting my feet even though I got half a size up, and on the left shoe the knuckle bone on my big toe digs in so I had to put some thing in the shoe for a couple nights to widen it, they kind of made my feet numb ..I’m sure once they break in they’ll be fine. Very grippy and I feel a lot more secure with these well-made shoes
