Performance

Different terrain and riding styles can benefit from specific shoe features. Grip, protection, weight, and breathability are all factors that can affect your on-bike experience.

Level 3 Flex retains a nuanced pedal feel, while providing some support to reduce foot-fatigue on longer descents. There is a more obvious power transfer and platform to push on than the softer Levels 1 & 2.

This Last is designed for a higher instep and generally wider foot. There is more room inside the shoe to reduce awkward pressure-points and increase comfort for sustained saddle-time.

Fit: Small
First pair, definitely took a massive beating and changed my mind about MTB shoe durability.

Size 13, Red, ridden for 8 months. I bough the Powerline as my first shoe from RC a few years ago and I have only purchased Ride Concept shoes since. The sizing is a bit small on this one and at the time, a 13 was the biggest size RC offered. I removed the insole and swapped it out for a slimmer one to gain volume and make it fit. This shoe has been beaten on with little regard for it's well being and has held up amazingly. Ridden for miles on double Downieville days, muddy snow fests on Tyrolean, burner Northstar Park laps and everything in-between. If it were not for the tread wearing down on the sole and the rubberized accouterment on the toe box delaminating, this shoe would still be in service daily. The asymmetrical inner ankle definitely protects against strikes as it shows considerable contact and color transfer but little to no wear. The toe box shape is asym and a little squared off which is amazing and the rubberized fabric treatment is cool to look at but has broken free of the toe box fabric and had become invalid as it traps moisture and dirt. The toe cap has 100% saved my toes on numerous occasions from rock strikes and pokey sticks. 10/10 would rock again but in an adjusted size.
