Performance
Different terrain and riding styles can benefit from specific shoe features. Grip, protection, weight, and breathability are all factors that can affect your on-bike experience.
Level 3 Flex retains a nuanced pedal feel, while providing some support to reduce foot-fatigue on longer descents. There is a more obvious power transfer and platform to push on than the softer Levels 1 & 2.
Our Low Volume Last is designed for an athletic fit. This allows the rider to achieve a more connected and secure feel without having to cinch down on the laces and risk foot numbness.

Ok, for decades I was a die-hard Five Ten fan for mountain biking with platform pedals. An employee at a Fruita bike shop convinced me to give the RC's a try. The fit is comfortable and just the right amount of snug. I really like the shoelace elastic "keeper" so they don't become a victim of the drive drain or crankshaft. But the real gamechanger for me is this grip! It's crazy good, and yes, it's actually better than the Five Ten's! It's so soft that if you ride most of the year - you'll need to replace them yearly - not because of the shoe falling apart, but because your platform "spikes" will wear down the outer sole on the bottom. If you ask me, that extra grip is totally worth it and you can usually find clearance prices for older models. I love these shoes - everything about them makes them my "go-to" mountain bike shoe brand!
Ten of ten stars! Fit is perfect! Size up by half size fit my partner perfectly. They fit great and have no break in pains!
I bought these couple months ago. Of course they got dirty mtn biking. I washed them by hand in cold water and a small amount of mild unscented clothes detergent. Each time I wash (2 x) the dye came out. I’m now left with blue shoes with a yellow side - where dye washed out on the suede portion. Very disappointed
